Micaila Abboud is a Lebanese-Canadian ceramic artist based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Her practice explores the intersection of material memory and ecological grief through handbuilt and wheel-thrown stoneware forms inspired by coral, shells, and coastal landscapes. Her work has been exhibited at Janey (Cambridge, Canada), Art Toronto (Toronto, Canada) and Bref (Montréal, Canada). She extends her practice through teaching, including workshops with IKEA and local community partners in Halifax. Abboud holds a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering and Applied Science (2019) and a Master’s degree in Marine Studies (2022) from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Her scientific training informs her artistic practice and commitment to environmental awareness and care, inviting viewers to notice, feel, and reflect on the fragility and resilience of marine ecosystems.
